Privacy Policy

TapBook (the "Service") is operated by kodanix, based in Hungary ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we act as the data controller for the personal data we process about you as a user of the Service. You can reach us at support@tapbook.app.

Account data: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. Business data: the services and availability you set up, the bookings you receive, and the names, contact details and notes of the customers who book with you. Billing data: your subscription status and the identifiers needed to take payment — full card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never stored on our servers. Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and usage events. Support data: anything you include when you contact us.

We use your information to create and secure your account, to provide and operate the Service, to process subscriptions and payments, to respond to support requests, to prevent fraud and abuse, to comply with our legal obligations, and to improve the Service. With your consent, we also use analytics and advertising cookies to measure and improve our marketing.

We process personal data where it is necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Service and handling billing), where we have a legitimate interest (keeping the Service secure, improving it, and measuring our marketing in a privacy-respecting way), where you have given consent (non-essential cookies and marketing), and where we must comply with a legal obligation.

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. Only after you accept them do we load optional analytics and advertising cookies, which may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel and the TikTok pixel. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie banner, and we apply Google Consent Mode so that no non-essential tags fire before you consent.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Service, under appropriate contracts: Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage and hosting), Stripe (payment processing) and, where you have consented, the analytics and advertising networks listed above. We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

Some of our providers (such as Google and Stripe) are based in or process data in the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and security obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and the associated personal data at any time, subject to any records we are legally required to retain.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@tapbook.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Hungary, the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).

We protect your data using encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
